Biography and Philosophy ![]() My philosophy of teaching is to make learning fun and effective. The piano is a challenging and rewarding instrument to learn. But students will get easily frustrated if they don't find it interesting and gratifying at the same time. It is a fine line that a teacher has to find with each student. It is my job to push them towards perfection without discouraging them; to pull out the most they have to offer without frustrating them. Each student must inwardly know they have succeeded to the best of their abilities. Every child's definition of "mastery" is different, depending on his or her talent and natural ability. But all students can be successful and achieve an intimate knowledge of not only the piano, but of his or her own strengths and weaknesses. I am truly convinced that the kind of long-term discipline and commitment learning an instrument entails carries over into all aspects of life. My studio is in my home and students play on a brand new J. Strauss baby grand piano with light action a bright sound. Parents are encouraged to "sit in" on each lesson so they can monitor their child's progress. ![]() ![]()
